I keep seeing people skip the test fit for drawer slides and it's costing them time. A guy in my shop in Boise spent an extra hour fixing a cabinet last week because of it.

Man, that's brutal. What exactly went wrong with the cabinet? Was it the slides themselves being off, or did the whole box get out of square because of it? Always feels like skipping that step creates two new problems for every one you think you're saving time on.

Ugh, @the_jason, I learned the hard way that not checking for square first makes the slides bind every single time.

OMG this! @the_jason I did the exact same thing on a kitchen job last fall. Thought I was being clever and saved myself time by not squaring the box first, just threw the slides in. First drawer worked fine but the second one bound up so bad it wouldnt even close. Had to pull everything out, re-square the whole thing, and by the time I was done I had wasted like 3 hours. Never again man.
