An old coworker's random text made me rethink a 7 year grudge

Out of nowhere my old shift lead from the diner on 5th St texted me about a shift swap from 2016 that I still hold against him. He apologized for being a jerk back then and said he was going through a divorce at the time, which explains why he snapped at me over the jam dispenser. It hit different cause I realized I was still mad at a guy who was probably just drowning, and I never once asked if he was okay. Has anyone else gotten a random apology that made you feel weirdly bad for holding onto the anger so long?

That text probably dug up some stuff you didnt even know was still sitting there, huh? Did you actually respond to him and say your side, or did you just let it hang? Cause I gotta wonder if hearing his excuse made the anger feel pointless or if it just gave you a new kind of sad to carry around.
