Just found out my $30 bullet journal is actually $5 at the craft store
I was shopping for a new journal last week and decided to price compare online versus in store. Found out that the same brand I always buy costs $12 more on Amazon than at my local shop. Now I'm checking every store before I click buy.

Oh come on, spending $30 on a bullet journal is a complete waste of money. You're paying for the name and the hype, not the actual quality. A $5 one from the craft store will literally do the exact same thing - hold your pens and keep your lists in order. People just like the feeling of buying something expensive so they think they'll actually stick with journaling. Watch, you'll probably get bored of it in two weeks anyway.

Ask what you actually think the extra $25 is buying besides a sense of achievement? If the paper quality or binding is that much better, shouldn't that be the main point, not the brand name. Seems like the real value is just feeling a bit more serious about it until the novelty wears off.
