I looked up how much time people spend setting up their bullet journals
I was reading a study from a planner company last week that said the average person spends about 90 minutes a month just on drawing their monthly log and weekly spreads. I found it on their blog while looking for layout ideas. I timed myself and I was way over that, closer to three hours. Has anyone else checked how long their setup actually takes?

That 90 minute average sounds way too low to be real. I spent almost two hours last Sunday just on my habit tracker and future log because I kept messing up the spacing. It feels like the study didn't count all the time spent planning the layouts before you even put pen to paper. Do you think they only timed the actual drawing part?

My bullet journal takes me three hours weekly, but that includes all my planning and mistakes.

I saw that study from the University of Washington last year. Honestly, they defined "journaling time" as just the active writing and drawing period. They didn't count the time people spent thinking about designs or fixing errors. Tbh that's the most time-consuming part for me too. It makes their 90 minute number feel pretty disconnected from reality.
