Stopped buying 'premium' trash bags because they popped just the same

Three weeks ago a $14 box of Glad ForceFlex split open on me carrying it to the curb, so now I grab the $4 generic ones from Smart & Final and they've held up better so far - has anyone else switched brands and seen a difference?

Yeah I did the same thing last year. Switched from Glad to the Kirkland ones at Costco and they're half the price. Not a single tear yet and I've gone through two boxes. The premium brands are just marketing hype honestly. The generic ones are thicker in my experience. I don't know why everyone thinks you have to pay more for trash bags.

Three weeks with the generic ones from Smart & Final and no blowouts here either. @kimreed mentioned Kirkland and I gotta say I tried those too once Sam's Club was out of stock on their store brand and yeah they're solid. I think the issue is premium brands spend all their money on marketing fancy packaging and scents instead of just making the bag thick enough. My last box of Glad had a weird thin spot right along the seam every single bag, what a joke. I just look for the ones with the thickest feel in the store now no matter the brand and save myself ten bucks.
