Rant: I started buying meat at the Asian grocery on Saturday mornings and my food bill went from $140 to $85
I used to do all my shopping at the big chain store near my place in Santa Clarita and I was spending around $140 a week for two people, which felt crazy. A coworker mentioned she gets her pork and chicken at the Asian market off Soledad Canyon and I finally tried it about two months ago. The difference is nuts, I got 5 pounds of chicken thighs for $9 and a huge pork shoulder for $12. I go early Saturday around 8am when they mark stuff down and the selection is still good. I also grab produce there now, the bok choy and green onions last way longer than the ones from the chain store. My freezer is packed and I still came in under $90 last week. Has anyone else found a specific store or day that beats the regular grocery prices around here?
