My washing machine drain hose came loose again last night and I finally fixed it right

It flooded the garage floor for the third time in 6 months, so I got a $4 hose clamp from the hardware store instead of using zip ties this time. Took me 10 minutes and I just hope it holds this time. Anyone else have a cheap fix that actually worked better than the quick patch?

Wait, you were using zip ties on a washing machine drain hose? That's wild. I can't believe it held at all, even for a little while.

Honestly, zip ties on a drain hose is some McGyver stuff, I read a thing where a plumber said hose clamps are basically the only way to go for that kind of vibration.

Oh, you had a friend try zip ties on that? My buddy Mike did the exact same thing with his old Whirlpool last year. He used like six zip ties all the way around the hose and the standpipe, thought he was a genius. It actually held for like two loads and then one night he woke up to water dripping through his kitchen ceiling into the light fixture below. Total nightmare, took him all weekend to dry out the drywall and replace the fixture. He still makes jokes about it but yeah, hose clamps are the way to go for sure.
