Had the worst grocery week in Santa Clarita last month

I usually spend around $150 a week for me and my kid. Last month I went to Ralphs on a Tuesday and my total came to $212 for almost the same stuff. Then I hit up the WinCo over in Palmdale on Friday and walked out with $80 more food than usual. The difference was insane. Like a whole 40 bucks cheaper for the same list. Has anyone else noticed prices jumping at specific stores around here?

@rowanellis mentioned the avocados being mushy at Vons, which tracks with what I've seen at Ralphs lately. You think the price jumps are just them testing what people will pay, or are they actually dealing with higher costs from their suppliers?

Every time I find decent avocados somewhere, the next week they're gone and the price went up again.

Swung by a Vons in Newhall last weekend and almost choked when my total hit $190 for what I normally grab for $130. The produce section was straight up depressing too, like half the avocados were already mushy. I've been bouncing between stores ever since, trying to figure out which one is still charging what things actually cost.
