Found a $7 tool at Harbor Freight that replaced my $50 caulk gun

I was pulling my hair out trying to get clean lines on a bathroom reno last month in Santa Clarita. The cheap caulk gun from the hardware store kept dripping and making a mess no matter how careful I was. Wandered into Harbor Freight out of desperation and grabbed their little squeeze tube tool for $7. It's basically a metal frame that holds the tube and gives you way more control. First bead I laid down was perfect. No drips, no waste. Saved me from buying a whole new expensive gun. Anybody else find a cheap tool that actually outperforms the pricier stuff?

The squeeze tube frame is great but the real trick is getting those cheap tubes of caulk to flow right. You gotta poke the inner seal with a nail or something, not just cut the tip, or it'll glob out every time. Harbor Freight stuff works fine once you figure out the little quirks.

Oh for sure, you nailed it with that inner seal trick @jordan_anderson90. I've had so many tubes just explode out the back when I skipped that step, it's ridiculous. Once you learn the little quirks though, those cheap frames are totally worth the money.
