Picked frozen broccoli over fresh for the first time in years

My fresh head went bad after 3 days in the fridge so I grabbed a $1.29 bag of frozen florets instead. Roasted them at 400 degrees for 20 minutes and they actually got crispy edges without turning to mush. Has anyone else had better luck with frozen veggies than fresh?

That bit about "crispy edges without turning to mush" is exactly why I switched over. My buddy did the same thing last month, grabbed a bag of frozen florets on a whim after his fresh head went bad in like two days. He roasted them with some garlic powder and cayenne (you know, a little heat) and said they came out way better than any fresh batch he'd done in weeks. I tried it myself after he texted me a picture of his crispy tray, and yeah, I haven't looked back since. Fresh is nice when you eat it day one, but frozen just holds up so much better for roasting (especially if you're like me and forget about veggies in the drawer).

Oh man, I was totally in the "fresh is always better" camp until I tried frozen cauliflower myself, and yeah, you're right - that crispy edge thing is real and I can't believe I was sleeping on it this whole time.
