My budget meal stress is giving me tension headaches
Trying to plan dinners on a tight budget has turned into a real headache, literally. I spent yesterday evening figuring out how to stretch one chicken breast across three meals. Now my neck is stiff from hunching over recipe sites looking for cheap ideas. The worst part is I can't even enjoy the food I make because I'm always calculating the cost per bite. My doctor said stress can cause physical pain, and I believe it. I used to think cooking cheap was just about beans, but it's a whole mind game. Maybe I need to accept that some nights it's okay to just have toast.

That "no math" meal idea sounds like a real relief. Do you think planning one simple meal a week would actually help you turn off the cost calculator brain? It seems like the mental break could be as important as the food.

Read somewhere that the mental load of constant cheap meal planning is a real form of decision fatigue. There was a study, or maybe an article, linking it to actual physical stress symptoms like tight shoulders. Your doctor is totally right. Maybe give yourself a weekly "no math" meal where you just eat whatever's easiest.

That link to physical stress is from actual studies, not just articles, right?
