The $11 goodwill pressure cooker I almost passed on

I was at the Goodwill off 82nd in Portland last month and saw this beat up 6 quart pressure cooker for 11 bucks. The gasket looked cracked and the handle was loose, so I almost left it. Decided to take a chance anyway because the bottom was clean, and after a 4 dollar replacement gasket and some online instructions, it cooks beans in 25 minutes that used to take me all day. Anyone else had luck fixing up secondhand kitchen gear instead of buying new?

My sister fixed up a $15 garage sale KitchenAid mixer with a $9 part. That thing's been running 6 years now. Rebuilding beats rebuying every time.
