That one customer who said my traps were 'too obvious' changed my whole approach
Had a guy at a duplex in Arlington last month tell me he didn't want his tenants seeing rat traps everywhere because it looked bad. So I started hiding them behind appliances and under sinks, but now I'm wondering if I'm just making it harder for the rodents to find the bait. Anyone else deal with balancing effectiveness versus keeping things clean looking?

I mean it's funny you mention that because it's basically the same thing that happens everywhere these days. People want results but they don't want to actually see the work being done, you know? Like my buddy runs a landscaping business and people get mad if he leaves leaf piles on the curb but then complain their yard looks messy. idk maybe it's just me but I think we've gotten way too obsessed with hiding all the practical stuff just so things look perfect on the surface. The bait's gotta be where the rodents actually travel, so if you shove it back in some dark corner they might not ever find it. Sometimes the honest solution isn't the prettiest one and that's okay.

Ever notice how we do that with everything now though? Like even the way we eat - people want instagrammable plates but nobody wants to see the prep mess in the kitchen or the dirty dishes piling up. Same with how we talk about working from home - everyone loves the idea but hates hearing about the boring logistics like scheduling conflicts or bad internet. Feels like we're all just trying to curate a version of reality that doesn't actually exist. You ever catch yourself doing that without even realizing it?
