I spent $80 on a 'miracle' plant food that promised to bring my dead fern back...
The bottle said it would work in 3 days, but after a week my fern was still a crispy brown mess. I even followed the weird instructions about talking to it... which my neighbor saw me do. Has anyone else fallen for a garden product that was just snake oil?

My uncle swore by this special cactus soil mix that cost a fortune. He said it made his plants grow twice as fast. Turns out it was just regular dirt with some tiny colored rocks mixed in. He was pretty mad when he found out. What did the instructions say you were supposed to talk to the fern about?

My grandma bought that same stuff for her African violets. The instructions said to discuss your daily worries with the fern so it could "absorb your stress." She spent a month telling it about her cable bill.
