The Tuesday I wore pajamas to the grocery store and nobody cared
I had a horrible cold and zero food in the house, so I shuffled into the local Safeway in my fluffy snowman PJs at 11am. The cashier just said 'hope you feel better' and scanned my chicken soup like it was normal. Has anyone else tested how invisible you can be when you're clearly sick?

That's exactly it, when you're that sick you just don't have the energy to care. I've done the same thing with sweatpants and a hoodie, zero shame when you're just trying to function.

It's funny how being sick strips away all the pretense and we just accept whatever works.

Honestly, being that sick turns you into a total gremlin. @the_angela called it perfectly, all pretense just flies out the window. I once wore the same pair of joggers for three days straight when I had the flu and didn't even blink. Tbh, the only thing I had the energy to care about was whether my box of tissues was within arm's reach. Sweatpants and a hoodie are basically a survival uniform at that point. Ngl, I'd rather look like a total wreck and feel slightly better than try to be cute and have to take a nap from the effort.
