Pro tip: I stopped using fancy words with customers when explaining electrical work
They understood better and I learned how to make complex ideas simple.

Wonder if swapping terms changed how you write up estimates or explain the cost. It seems like building that trust through clear talk would make people less likely to argue the bill. Do you get fewer call backs or confused questions after the work is done because the explanation stuck? I always figured this plain language thing must work for other skilled trades too, like plumbing or HVAC.

Exactly, @paigesullivan. Clear talk just builds trust.

Our foreman made us swap "load calculation" for "how much power your stuff needs" on site notes. Clients stopped zoning out immediately. Now I just say "bad wire" instead of "faulty conductor insulation" and point at the crispy bit. It cuts the call time in half because they actually get it.
