Pro tip: I stopped saying yes to every school event and my week got way better
Last month I counted it up and I had agreed to 9 after school things in 3 weeks, everything from dances to bake sales. I was staying at work until 6pm most nights and still doing stuff on the weekend, so I just started replying 'I can't this time' with no excuse attached. The first few times felt so rude I almost typed a whole paragraph of reasons, but nobody pushed back at all. Two coworkers even told me they were jealous I had the guts to say no. Now I want to know, has anyone else tried turning down stuff without explaining why, and did anyone give you a hard time for it?
