Got 14 haircuts in 6 months from strangers on Craigslist and only one was actually bad
So about half a year back my barber in Tacoma retired out of nowhere and I got weird about finding a new one. Instead of just picking a shop like a normal person, I started answering Craigslist ads from people cutting hair out of their apartments for cheap. My rule was simple, 20 bucks max and I had to sit in a real chair, not a kitchen stool. I ended up doing 14 cuts from 9 different people over those 6 months, including a retired lady named Deb who ran a shop out of her garage and did the best fade of my life for 15 dollars. The one bad one was a guy who kept taking phone calls mid cut and nicked my ear twice, so I still think I came out ahead on average. My girlfriend thinks the whole thing was insane and honestly she might be right, but I also saved probably 400 dollars compared to my old shop. The weird part was the consequences, like having to make small talk in a stranger's living room while they decide how short my sideburns should be. Anyway, anybody else ever go way out of their way to avoid just picking a normal option, or is that just a me problem?
Wait, you PAID strangers from Craigslist to come near your head with scissors? That's either the bravest or dumbest thing I've read all week. Deb sounds like a legend though, shoutout to garage Deb.
