Told myself I'd never use a mortar mixer, now I feel dumb

For 12 years I mixed all my mud by hand in a wheelbarrow on jobs around Des Moines, thought power mixers were for lazy guys who couldn't judge consistency. Last month on a big retaining wall I borrowed a buddy's mixer and finished in half the time with way less arm pain. Any of you old-school guys ever give in and try one, or am I the only stubborn one?

That "judging consistency" part is exactly what I thought too, but honestly the mixer does it better than me every time now. Nobody talks about how hand mixing leads to subtle wrist fatigue that messes with your trowel work later in the day.
