Mortar mix went wrong on a job in Memphis last Tuesday

I grabbed what I thought was the regular type S mortar but it was some cheap off-brand the supplier gave me by mistake. The whole first wall I laid started crumbling by the end of the day. Has anyone else had a batch fail like that after it dried?

Dude same thing happened to me last summer, wall just crumbled apart by evening.

Third Street job in Nashville did the exact same thing on me back in March. Nothing worse than watching a whole days work just fall apart like that.
