Found my first brick from a job I did 12 years ago, still holding strong at the old Miller's Hardware on 3rd Street
I was walking my dog last week past that place and spotted the corner brick I laid back in 2011 with that weird little chip near the edge, and I just stood there thinking about how we used to mix mud by hand and now everything's pumped from a machine, has anyone else gone back to see their old work hold up?

That YouTube guy might have been talking about concrete, not brickwork. Brick and concrete are totally different animals. Concrete can last decades if it's poured right, but brick relies on the mortar between them holding up. I was a little nervous checking that old wall because freeze thaw cycles can wreck mortar over time. But that chip in my brick was still there, the mortar was still solid, and the whole thing looked just as good as the day I pointed it up.

Saw a guy on YouTube talking about this exact thing. He found his old concrete work from the 90s and it was still perfect. Said it felt weirdly good knowing something you built is still standing.
