My old boss told me to stop asking the crew for their input on pour days, so I tried it his way for one job
I ran concrete crews for 6 years and always did a quick huddle before a big pour to see if anyone saw a problem I missed. My old boss pulled me aside in the trailer one morning and said, "You're the foreman, they're not, just tell them what to do." I tried it his way on a 4,000 sq ft slab in Aurora and we ended up short on mud because nobody felt like they could speak up about the pump line kinking. Went back to the huddle the next week and finished the pour 2 hours early. Has anyone else had a boss who thought asking the crew made you look weak?
