My manager said the inventory count would take 45 minutes, it took my crew 6 hours at the Riverside warehouse
My boss swore the count would be quick, said 45 minutes tops, so he scheduled us for a half shift. Three of us spent 6 hours at the Riverside warehouse because nobody had updated the bin labels since 2021 and half the SKUs were in the wrong aisle. He still says we were just slow, but I think the real problem was his plan. Do you side with him on us dragging it out, or was this his mess to own?
My last inventory count went so bad I found a box of stuff that expired before I even started working there, so trust me I know the pain. If the bin labels hadn't been touched since 2021 and stuff was sitting in the wrong aisles, that is not a crew problem, that is a plan problem. You can't count what you can't find, and hunting for misplaced SKUs is where the whole day goes. Your boss is basically blaming you for his own bad map. Six hours sounds about right for that mess.
