Sorry guys, but the 1998 Godzilla VHS rip with the Thai dub is still the best way to watch it
Picked up a flea market tape in Akron last Saturday for $2, and about ten minutes in the audio drifted a full second ahead of the picture so Godzilla was roaring before he even opened his mouth, and I just let it ride. I know everyone here chases the cleanest laserdisc rip, but honestly the messed up dubs are the whole point and a perfect copy feels dead to me. What is the worst sync job you ever decided to keep instead of hunting down a better version?
My $1 copy of Return of the Living Dead from a garage sale in Toledo had the sound about two seconds off, so the zombies moaned long after they'd already shuffled past. Kept it anyway, fixed copies just feel too clean.
