Warning: that $80 book press from the auction site was a trap
Bought a cast iron book press on eBay last Tuesday. Looks great on the shelf, but the jaws are so misaligned it crushes one corner every single time. Tried shimming it with cardboard, still crooked. Anyone found a way to fix an off-kilter press or am I just out the cash?

Cast iron bends easy with a torch and a big clamp, just saying.
