Rant: Our book club spent three whole meetings arguing about the ending of 'Klara and the Sun'

I mean, we read it last month and everyone got stuck on whether Klara's sacrifice was hopeful or just sad. We had a whole chart on the whiteboard for two weeks. It took us over six hours of talking to finally agree we'd never agree. Has your group ever gotten that hung up on a single book's ending?

Oh man, I read a whole article about that exact argument.

But the teen study had its own problems. Different setting, different tasks, it wasn't a clean copy.

Yeah, that article probably mentioned the follow-up study where they tried it with different age groups. The whole thing falls apart with teenagers, they just don't react the same way at all. Makes you wonder how solid the original findings really were.
