Our club just hit 12 straight meetings where we fought over the ending of a book
I counted them all, and it's made me realize we're not actually debating the books anymore, we're just repeating the same 'happy vs. realistic ending' argument every single time. Has your group ever gotten stuck in a loop like this, and how did you break out of it?

Our group had a ten month stretch where every talk came back to whether a character was likeable enough. The way we fixed it was to pick books with a clear theme, like survival or betrayal, and make that the only question for the night. It forced us to look past our usual habits.

That theme trick saved our group from endless plot debates.

Themes are great, but sometimes you just need a book where everyone hates the main guy.
