I trashed 'The Alchemist' for years without reading it... then I gave in
My book club picked it last month and I almost quit over it, but I read it anyway just to complain with evidence. By page 50 I was hooked on how simple the message was about paying attention to what's right in front of you. Anyone else have a book you hated on without reading that turned out to be better than expected?

Still don't get the hype honestly. Read the whole thing waiting for some big revelation and it just felt like fortune cookie wisdom stretched into a novel. Different strokes I guess.
