Warning: A retired boilermaker in Gary told me my tube rolling pattern was backwards and now I can't stop checking
I was at a union hall in Gary last month and this old timer with 38 years in asked to see pics of my last boiler job. He pointed at my tube sheet and said "you're rolling from the outside in, that's why your joints keep weeping." I been doing it that way for 6 years and nobody ever flagged it. Now I'm second guessing every rollout and my foreman thinks I'm slow. Any of you roll center out or is it just how I was taught?
