Swore by 7018 for 12 years until a guy in Gary showed me his root pass with 6010
I ran 7018 on everything for over a decade, roots included, and thought anyone running a 6010 root was just doing it for looks. Then a boilermaker named Dale out of Gary, Indiana had me watch him whip a 6010 root on a 2 inch sch 80 coupon, and the penetration on that backside was cleaner than anything I ever pulled with lo-hy. Now I keep both in the stinger pouch and match the rod to the joint instead of my habits. Any of you still running lo-hy roots on heavy wall, or did you switch too?
