Shoutout to the Super 8 in Boise that had only QVC, because I finally finished a show without my phone

Two weeks ago I checked into a Super 8 outside Boise for a work trip and the TV got exactly one channel, QVC, no streaming, no guide, nothing. I'd started six different shows over the past year and quit every one by episode three, usually because my phone was sitting right there. With no wifi password that worked and nothing else to do, I watched all eight episodes of a detective show I'd downloaded onto my laptop before the trip, in two sittings, and actually remembered the ending. Now when a show hooks me I leave my phone charging in the bathroom and it works every time. Has anyone else made a house rule like this, or is it just a hotel fluke?
