PSA: I swore reality TV was brain rot for 12 years, then a stomach bug in February changed my mind
I caught that nasty stomach bug going around Seattle back in February and spent four days flat on the couch with zero energy to follow a real plot. My wife put on Love Island UK season 8 because she said I needed something I could watch with half a brain, and I hate to admit it but she was right. Around day two I stopped pretending to read my phone and started asking her actual questions about who was coupled up with who, and by day four I had opinions about Ekin-Su. It turns out the show is basically a puzzle where you track alliances and social moves, minus any homework. I blew through 22 episodes in those four days and went back to work almost sad the binge was over. Now I keep a mental list of shows that work when your brain is fried, so what is everyone's go to sick day binge?
