My buddy swore skipping intros saves 2 hours per season... he was dead right

Started a new show last month and my friend Dave (the guy who always finishes series way before me) told me to skip intros and recaps on every episode. I timed it on a 10-episode binge of The Bear and saved about 18 minutes - so for a 20-ep season that's like 45 minutes, not 2 hours. Anyone else actually measure this stuff or is my math just off?

The math only works if you're watching shows with 90-second intros and full recaps on every episode, which a lot of network dramas do. Plus your buddy probably factored in all the clicking and skipping between episodes, not just the intro time. Either way, it's a personal choice and nobody should be timing their TV time like it's a gym workout.

Exactly. I timed the intro on my current show, it's 47 seconds, not 90. So the "hours saved" math would be way off for me. Plus who is actually optimizing their leisure time like it's some kind of productivity hack? Feels like the kind of thing someone posts when they're trying to justify a weird habit. You just watch the show or you don't, right?
