My attempt to watch a show in order backfired in a weird way

I decided to watch 'The Wire' from start to finish, but I mixed up the DVD sets. I ended up watching the entire second season first, thinking it was the start. For three days, I was totally lost about who these dock workers were and why no one was talking about the projects. I only figured it out when a friend asked how I liked the first season's ending. Has anyone else ever done something this dumb with a show's order?

Used to think watching backwards was just a weird joke, but @gray644 got me trying it with a mystery show. Seeing the crime solved first, then watching the clues pile up backwards, actually made the characters' choices way more tense. Changed my whole view on how stories can work.
