Coworker told me I was watching shows wrong for years

My buddy Dave who works at a video store in Austin called me out after I said I finished The Office in 3 weeks. He said I was speedrunning instead of letting episodes sink in. I changed my routine to one episode a night max and now I actually remember plot points and character names instead of just blurring through 8 seasons. Has anyone else had a friend call out their binge habits like this?

Your buddy Dave sounds like a gatekeeper who needs a hobby. Plowing through eight seasons of The Office in three weeks is an achievement, not a crime. Some of us have lives and want to get through the good stuff before the next big thing drops. If I had to wait one episode per night, I'd forget half the jokes by the time the credits rolled on season four. Binge watching is just efficiency, not disrespect to the show.

@iris_davis90 yeah honestly I'm with you on that. The whole "you're doing TV wrong" thing is getting pretty old.
