Can we talk about how I just wasted 30 hours on a show with a terrible payoff?

I started watching 'The Whispers' on Hulu because the premise sounded cool - creepy alien kid stuff. Got 10 episodes in, invested all my spare time during naptimes for a week, and then right when it was getting good? Cancelled. No ending, no resolution, just a cliffhanger that goes nowhere. I lost 30 hours of my life and $15 on a Hulu subscription I only got for this show. Has anyone else fallen into the trap of a cancelled show with no ending?
