I finally stopped ignoring creaky bottom brackets after a roadside failure.

Seeing how a loose bracket wore out the shell made me see that catching it early stops worse trouble.

Yeah that's so true. I started checking mine every few rides with a simple torque wrench, and it's been smooth ever since.
