That $40 'waterproof' phone mount I bought for my bike lasted exactly one rainy commute
Dropped my phone in a puddle on 5th Street after the suction cup gave out halfway to work, and I'm wondering if anyone has found a mount that actually survives rain or if we're all just gambling with our screens.

Two different $50 "heavy duty" mounts failed on me within a month each. The rubber parts just dry out and crack after a few weeks in the sun. These things are basically a tax on people who want to listen to music on their commute without ruining a phone.

Have you tried the steel spring clamps instead of rubber ones?
