I finally covered a regular's coffee when they forgot cash

My favorite customer came in today and had no money on them. I just gave them their usual drink for free since they're always so kind, even though it's against the rules. Would you have done the same thing?

Absolutely, I covered a donut for a regular once. It built way more loyalty than following the strict rule ever would. That small kindness pays off.
