Had a shift last Tuesday where 3 customers asked me to remake their coffee in a row

First one wanted extra hot, second said it was too hot, and the third wanted almond milk instead of oat. By the fourth pour I just started laughing, anyone else get those days where nothing makes sense?

...and that's exactly when you learn the secret trick. I started doing what I call the "coffee script" after the third ridiculous request in a row. You just say "sure, no problem" every single time, no matter what they ask. Don't think, don't react, just say it and do it. Your brain checks out and your hands go on autopilot. I had a lady ask for a latte, then watch me steam the milk, then say she wanted it iced instead. I just dumped the hot milk, scooped ice, and poured it over without saying a word. She actually looked confused that I didn't argue. Works every time, man.

oh man i feel this in my soul. the other day i had a lady watch me pour her coffee, then ask me to pour it back and add more cream because "it looked too dark" even though i measured it exactly to her specs. at that point i just started giggling uncontrollably and had to step in the back for a minute. some shifts feel like the universe is just testing how much nonsense one person can handle before they crack.
