I was soaking my Wahl Senior blades in clipper oil every Sunday for a year thinking I was doing maintenance, and my blades kept dragging within 4 weeks. The old guy at the shop on Colfax told me to switch to a stiff brush and a dry cloth only, and my last pair of blades lasted 5 months before needing a swap. Am I the only one who was taught wrong on this, or did your school teach you the same oil bath thing?
