I don't get why barbers avoid talking to clients before starting
Every time I see a barber jump right into cutting without asking what the client wants, it baffles me. A quick two-minute talk can prevent mistakes and make the client feel heard. I've had clients come to me after bad experiences where the barber just assumed the style. It saves time and builds trust, so why skip it?

Consider that barbers might be silently checking your hair texture and head shape before they even start. They need to see how your hair naturally falls and spots that might cause trouble. This visual check can sometimes tell them more than a quick chat, in my experience. But your mileage may vary, and it's risky if they assume too much. A good barber should mix both, looking first then talking to confirm. Skipping the talk entirely might be their way of focusing, but it can leave clients feeling ignored.

My barber once spent five minutes just looking before touching my hair. @milas72 has a point, but I started wondering if he forgot how to talk.
