Had a client call me out on my fade blending...

Last Tuesday this guy in his 50s sat down and told me my zero gaps were leaving a hard line right above the occipital. He used to cut hair in the Army back in the 80s. I changed my approach that same day, started using the corner of my clipper instead of the full blade for blending. Man, it smoothed out everything. Any other barbers here ever get humbled by a random customer like that?

That old timer advice really sticks with you, doesn't it? I had a retired carpenter show me how to match a 100 year old window frame once and it changed how I look at wood grain forever. You just don't get that kind of hands on knowledge from a YouTube video or a book. Feels like those guys had decades of trial and error baked into every sentence. Makes you wish you could soak up everything they know before they're gone.
