A client in Portland asked for a skin fade but had a serious razor bump breakout.

I was halfway through the fade when I saw the inflamed skin and knew my usual technique would make it worse. I stopped, explained the risk, and offered to finish with clippers only and a cold compress, which he agreed to. How do you handle a service change mid-cut when a skin condition pops up?

Ever try a pre-shave oil first?

Oh yeah, I saw a barber online swear by it for sensitive skin. Makes the razor glide way better.

Portland's a pretty chill city, so I'm surprised he didn't just cancel the fade idea himself. A few razor bumps are normal, but stopping the whole service seems like an overreaction. Most guys I know would just power through it.
