Paid $200 for a 'viral' online course on flipping furniture, got nothing useful

The course was just basic sanding and chalk paint tips I could've found on YouTube for free, and the instructor wouldn't answer any questions about real profit margins. Has anyone else gotten burned by those influencer-led classes?

Seems like you dropped two hundred bucks on a lesson that was pretty obvious from the start though... I mean, flipping furniture has been around forever and those online gurus are always just selling dreams. Paying that much for sanding tips and chalk paint feels like you skipped the free YouTube videos that show the exact same thing with better results honestly. Maybe the real question is why you expected a stranger to hand over their actual profit secrets for just $200, that's a pretty steep discount for real business knowledge.

The chalk paint thing is actually worth a little pushback, because not all flips are created equal. A lot of the free YouTube stuff focuses on the easy, trendy pieces, not the real work of stripping, staining, or fixing structural issues on antiques. Ive watched a few of those gurus and some do show legit profit secrets, but you have to dig past the first few videos to find them. Your mileage may vary, but i paid for a workshop once and learned a specific trick for rewebbing old chairs that i never saw for free online.
