Hit 47 subscribers on my banned history channel and got a warning email from my ISP the same day
I run a small channel where I read out declassified documents about stuff they pulled from textbooks in the 90s, mostly CIA stuff from the 60s and 70s. Last Tuesday I hit 47 subscribers, which is nothing, but it was the first time a video passed 2k views. That night I got an email from my ISP about "copyright complaints" on a clip I used, even though the clip was 11 seconds of a public domain army film from 1963. I checked and the same clip is on like 200 other channels with no issue. The video that got flagged was the one about the 1953 Iran coup, and the complaint came in 6 hours after I posted it. I moved everything to a backup drive and started using a VPN after that. Has anyone else had a video get hit within a day of posting when the views barely moved?
Wow, 47 subs and the ISP is already on you like you're running a crime ring out of your basement. Funny how a public domain clip from 1963 suddenly becomes a problem the same day your Iran coup video does numbers, but the other 200 channels using it are fine. Maybe it's just me but that timing smells less like copyright and more like someone noticed what you were reading out loud.
