Got banned from a gardening forum for talking about companion planting with marigolds

Last month I posted on a big gardening site about how I plant marigolds next to my tomatoes to keep nematodes away. Some mod deleted my post and said it's a myth with no science behind it. I asked for proof and they banned me for 3 days. My grandpa did this his whole life in his garden outside Tulsa and his tomatoes were always fine. Has anyone else ran into rules like this on gardening boards?

My friend Sarah got banned from a home brewing forum for saying you should leave the lid slightly off during fermentation. She'd been doing it for years with her dad's old recipe for apple cider and it always turned out fine. Some mod there called it a health risk and gave her a two week suspension. She still laughs about it, but she just doesn't post there anymore.

Gotta agree with @patricia_green21, that's a dumb reason to ban someone lol.
