Warning: That $35 "all-in-one" fee killer app was a total scam
I signed up for this app that promised to track all my bank fees and help me dispute them automatically... cost me $35 upfront plus $10 a month. After three months, it didn't catch a single fee I couldn't already see myself, and their dispute feature just sent a boilerplate email to my bank. I ended up canceling and losing $65 total. Has anyone found an actual tool that works for managing bank charges without all the hype?

Weren't those subscription fees supposed to be grandfathered in or something? I saw @jessicac28 mention that Consumer Reports article and honestly it sums up everything wrong with these hype apps. I tried a similar fee finder tool last year and it literally just highlighted my monthly maintenance charges that were already listed in big letters on my statement. The whole "dispute automatically" thing is a joke when they just copy paste a form letter your bank probably trashes immediately. Frustrating how they market themselves as saving you money but really just drain your wallet faster.
