A bartender in Brooklyn changed how I think about transaction fees
I was grabbing a drink last Friday at this spot in Williamsburg and got talking to the bartender about how Square takes a cut of every sale. He said his buddy runs a food truck and eats like $3,000 a year in processing fees alone... that hit me because I never really add up what I'm losing to card companies. It made me realize those tiny percentages on my banking statements actually add up to real money over time. Has anyone else ever crunched the numbers on what your bank really makes off you?

Honestly, is it really that serious though?

Maybe it's just me but people act like everything's a crisis now when half the time it's just a minor inconvenience, like we've forgotten how to pick our battles.
