Used to default to buttercream for every cake, now I reach for cream cheese frosting 9 times out of 10 after that birthday cake fail on my sister's 30th.

That soupy buttercream disaster back in July taught me that cream cheese holds up way better in warm weather and actually compliments the cake instead of just coating it, has anyone else switched their go-to frosting for practical reasons?

Switched to ermine frosting for my summer cakes, stays firm and isn't too sweet.
